Cut-To-Length Machine accommodates tubing up to 8 in. dia.

Press Release Summary:

Chip/Chipless cut-to-length line uses head that rotates around tubing, allowing higher rotational speeds without support of tube end. Cutting is done with discs or carbide tools. Cut parts can be chamfered automatically. Turret version performs secondary operations such as threading, reduction, expansion, boring, flattening, and marking. Machine functions are PLC controlled, using touch screen.

Original Press Release:

Series of Chip/Chipless Cut To Length Lines For Tubing Thru 8 inch Diameter

S&S Machinery Corp., in its constant analysis of the latest technology now offers a series of chip/chipless cut to length lines for tubing thru 8 inch diameter.

All versions of this series share a common theme, the part does not rotate, the cutting head does. This concept allows running at higher rotational speeds without support of the tube end, regardless of tube length. This translates into higher production. These machines have the capability of chipless cutting with discs or carbide parting tools. The cut parts can be chamfered automatically while cutting, by using a tooling head with four (4) tool holders; two (2) hold the cut off tools, while the other two (2) hold chamfering tools.

One O.D. chamfers the trailing edge, the other O.D. chamfers the leading edge. I.D. chamfering of both tube ends is performed without reclamping by the addition of a rotary chamfering head.

A turret version is offered where higher volumes or multiple secondary operations (i.e. threading, reduction, expansion, boring, flattening, chamfering, marking) are performed simultaneously. These machines can process parts as short as 1/2 inch. All machine functions are PLC controlled utilizing a user friendly touch screen.
