DEWalt Unveils New 36V Cut-Off Tool- Providing Professional Users with the Power of Corded without the Cord

June 2007 - DeWALT, a leading manufacturer of industrial power tools, today announced the launch of its new 36V cut-off tool (DC415KL). DeWALT engineered the DC415KL with a 36V battery, providing professional users with increased levels of power and runtime, while maintaining a similar weight to corded and cordless cut-off tools. Ideal for maintenance and repair operations, and wherever users require corded metal cutting performance without a cord. This cut-off tool has the ability to cut door hardware and locks, old anchors, tile, electrical cable and rusted fasteners. The DC415KL can also be used to finish ornamental and handrail welds, and prepare for several applications such as rail cable repair, remote cutting and welding, and mounting tabs.

DEWALT's 36V batteries are designed with a unique Nano-Phosphate lithium-ion cells that provide users with increased battery durability and cycle life, offering 2,000 recharges* and increased battery life.

A Quick-Change wheel release system allows users to easily remove wheels without using a wrench, and a keyless adjustable guard enables users to quickly adjust the guard without having to use a tool. These tool-free features help to increase productivity on the jobsite. Additionally, an oversized, protected spindle lock button promotes quicker wheel changes, also increasing productivity.

In order to ensure the cut-off tool would be durable enough for the most extreme metalworking applications, DeWALT designed the tool with a durable jam-pot, low profile gear case. This gear case provides precise gear alignments for a smoother, quieter transmission and enables users to easily access tight spaces.

To prevent accidental startup, the DC415KL is equipped with a paddle switch with a lock-off system. An anti-slip comfort grip provides end users with increased comfort and control. Additionally, DeWALT designed the cut-off tool with an ergonomic 50/50 weight distribution from front to back to ensure the tool is well balanced, especially when the blade is in a vertical position.
