Customized lightline with high power LEDs

Now available from SCHOTT is the new customizable lightline with high power LEDs. The design concept allows length of 100 - 2.000 mm to be usable in long width web scanning applications. The light output is focusable with an acrylic cylindrical lens to achieve adjustable working distances between 50 and 100 mm. MayTec(TM) profile grooves along the sides of the slim housing allow easy and flexible mounting into the manufacturing line, while mechanically stabilizing the housing. The flexible LED board design enables the usage of different LED-types, i.e. high current LEDs or Chip-on-Board Technology. Thus, the LED board can be custom tailored to the application in regard to homogeneity, intensity or mixed-color requirements. It also allows future upgrade to even higher performance LEDs if they become available. Depending on the LED type chosen a modular heat sink concept comprises passive or active air cooling as well as optional water cooling for high-end applications. The LED board temperature is continuously controlled to prevent overheating and thus damage of the LEDs. The control electronics for the LEDs is located in an external controller box which can either be mounted to the MayTec profile grooves or located remotely in a switch cabinet. Intensity control can be either performed by means of a dimmable potentiometer via constant current or by PWM via an 0-10 V analog input.
