Original Press Release:

MRC® Custom 'HNCR' Steel Bearings Offer Superior Corrosion Resistance And Fatigue Life

MRC® custom "HNCR" steel bearings made from high nitrogen corrosion resistant steel offer superior corrosion resistance and fatigue life compared with conventional stainless steel bearings. MRC "HNCR" bearings perform ideally in excessively harsh corrosive environments.

These bearings are available from MRC's Made-to-Order (MTO) Products Group and can be custom-engineered to meet particular application requirements. Applications include food processing equipment, paper mill machinery, and industrial pumps, among many others in a wide range of industries.

The presence of nitrogen coupled with high chromium in HNCR steel in these bearings contributes to their superior corrosion resistance compared with 440C stainless. Hardened and tempered HNCR provides hardness (58HRC) comparable to 52100 steel and HNCR steel yields fatigue life better than 52100 to promote reliable performance and extended service life.

MTO products are manufactured to MRC's exacting engineering specifications under strict quality standards using factory-specified components and processes. Application engineering expertise delivers value-added capabilities in bearing design, lubrication, and performance parameters. All MTO products carry the full MRC manufacturer warranty.
