Cushioned Clutch enables higher machine speeds.

Press Release Summary:

In addition to overload protection, an increase in machine speed can be obtained by inserting slip clutch into system. Friction surfaces result in static friction being less than dynamic friction, which cushions suddenly applied loads. Tension on paper, wire film, and thread is gradually applied and is half of suddenly applied load. Machine itself will also be cushioned from shock, elongating life for parts and tooling.

Cushioned Clutch Gives Higher Machine Speeds

In addition to overload protection higher machine speeds can be obtained by inserting a slip clutch into a machine system. The friction surfaces developed by Polyclutch result in static friction being less than dynamic friction. This means "suddenly applied loads" are cushioned. Tension on paper, wire film, thread, etc. is gradually applied and is half of a "suddenly applied load". The machine can then run much faster without overloading the material. The machine itself will also be cushioned from shock, allowing higher speeds, and providing longer life for machine parts and tooling.
