From Stackpole Electronics, Inc. Offers New 3-Watt Current Sense Resistor

RALEIGH, N.C. (April 29, 2005) - Stackpole Electronics, Inc. has introduced a new 1225-sized current sense chip resistor capable of handling 3 Watts of power at 70°C.
Designated the CSR3, these resistors are rated for 3W at 70°C, and feature resistance values from 0.002Ω to 0.200Ω, in tolerances to ±1%. The CSR3 has a TCR of ±200ppm/°C and demonstrates inductance of less than 0.2nH (measured at 1 GHZ).
The CSR3 is rated for operation from -55°C to +150°C and is manufactured with a bottom side, 4 pad termination to allow for a Kelvin connection. The CSR3 is fully compatible with automated assembly equipment, and wave or reflow soldering methods.
Rob Hudspeth, Director of Sales & Marketing for Stackpole commented on the CSR3 in saying, "The wide terminations on the long side of the CSR3 allow engineers to run wider copper traces, thereby reducing solder joint resistance and increasing current carrying capacity at lower temperatures."
