Cold Cutting Technology Delivers Faster, Cooler, Cleaner and More Affordable Metal Cutting
Brookfield, WI Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation introduces the latest in metal cutting, the new 8-Inch Metal Cutting Circular Saw with dry (a.k.a. "cold") cutting technology. Equipped with durable, fast cutting Cermet-tipped blades, the saw produces a virtual spark-free wake and cool, burr and scorch-free edges that don't require post-cut finishing.
Compared to cutting with an abrasive wheel, the Cermet-tipped blades last up to 25 times longer, significantly lowering the cost per cut, not to mention the time savings associated with 1 versus 25 blade changes. Virtually all of the cool cut waste, mostly in the form of metal shavings, is effectively contained with a durable, magnesium blade shield and channeled into the saw's integral ChipTank for easy clean-up. The exclusive quick-release blade shield latch provides convenient chip disposal and fast blade changes.
The new 8-Inch Metal Cutting Circular Saw is powered by a 13 Amp, 3,700 RPM motor and can easily cut through 1/4" plate material including mild steel, aluminum and stainless steel. It has a 2-9/16" cut depth for one-pass through most metal stud, grating, panel and decking and is the only corded metal cutting circular saw to feature a lower guard retraction lever for plunge cutting. The lever's location, adjacent to the side handle, ensures that the user has both hands firmly on the saw throughout the cut.
The saw also features a large, durable cut-depth adjustment lever and comfortable soft-grip handle and tactile front handle for user comfort and cut control, extending blade life. It includes a precise system of sight-line and point of entry indicators for straight, accurate cuts, which minimizes material use, extends valuable blade life.
To provide smooth, accurate cuts the saw features a durable, rust-resistant, stainless steel shoe. The new 8-Inch Metal Cutting Circular Saw is available as tool only (Model 6370-20) and as a kit (Model 6370-21) which includes a carrying case.
