Cultec Releases Stormgenie® Version 2.0

Redesigned StormGenie Automated Drawing Program Simplifies Design of Stormwater System

BROOKFIELD, CT/– CULTEC has released its StormGenie® v.2.0 automated drawing program, which is used in conjunction with the company’s updated Stormwater Design Calculator. The Stormwater Design Calculator calculates the system and the StormGenie draws the proposed system in AutoCAD®.

The StormGenie is an AutoCAD plug-in that simplifies the design phase and allows clients to generate project-specific AutoCAD drawings for the company’s Contactor® and Recharger® stormwater systems. The CAD drawings are fully usable, may be modified and incorporated into existing plans and used in final designs.

The CULTEC Stormwater Design Calculator is a Microsoft Excel® spreadsheet that calculates CULTEC Stormwater Systems in both English and Metric. The program provides a list of materials for easy estimating, including the bed area required, a breakdown of storage provided and produces a custom cross section detail based on the design parameters entered. After the users complete the spreadsheet, they open AutoCAD, browse for the saved spreadsheet and run the StormGenie.  The StormGenie will then automatically generate CAD drawings based on the system that was proposed in the calculator program. The drawings include: project-specific designs, CULTEC’s Internal Manifold System, accurate center-to-center spacing and system dimensions, dimensional call-outs, legend and hatching, a list of materials for easy take-offs and storage provided all within seconds eliminating guess-work and potential inaccuracies.

Accurate, project-specific drawings are created in three simple steps:

• Input the project’s design parameters into the CULTEC Stormwater Design Calculator, choose the desired model and save the spreadsheet.

• Click the CULTEC StormGenie on the AutoCAD toolbar and open the saved spreadsheet.

• The CULTEC Stormwater System CAD drawing is automatically generated. The drawing may be incorporated into plans and modified as necessary.

CULTEC’s StormGenie is a convenient tool for engineers, contractors and landscape architects to quickly create preliminary stormwater system proposals and final designs. The program allows contractors and architects to accurately draw systems themselves for review by an engineer or client, and is ideal for creating bids or conceptual systems or for displaying product substitutions.

Customers must have CULTEC Stormwater Design Calculator v.2012-02 and the full version of AutoCAD 2008 or a later version to run the CULTEC StormGenie program. StormGenie is available for download at www.cultec.com/stormgenie.html and the latest version of the Design Calculator can be downloaded at www.cultec.com/sdc.html. About CULTEC

In 1986, CULTEC introduced its Contactor® and Recharger® HDPE septic and stormwater chambers and helped begin a revolution toward the use of plastic construction products. Since then, several product developments and strategic alliances have made CULTEC a cutting-edge R&D-based manufacturer. CULTEC chambers can be used as subsurface retention or detention systems and as replacements for ponds, concrete structures or pipe and stone installations.

CULTEC manufactures a variety of chamber sizes able to accommodate almost any site parameter. The product’s perforated sidewalls and fully open bottoms promote maximum infiltration capability and allow for the transfer of high volumes of water at a low velocity. The units can be installed singularly or in series in single- or multi-layer beds.

In addition, CULTEC has developed products that are perfect for light commercial or residential applications, and its own in-line side portal manifold system, which eliminates the need for a conventional pipe header system, and water quality unit for maintaining CULTEC chamber systems. CULTEC products meet H-25 wheel load requirements, and are currently modeled in HydroCAD, Bentley Systems, Inc.’s PondPack®, Autodesk’s Autodesk® Storm and Sanitary Analysis, and Streamline Technologies' ICPR.

CULTEC’s technical staff offers free design assistance including preliminary calculations and job-specific CAD details. A free CULTEC StormGenie™ -- AutoCAD® Plug-In for designing CULTEC systems and a free HydroCAD CULTEC custom edition is also available from the company. In addition, CULTEC products can contribute to the U.S. Green Building Council's credits, under the LEED rating system, when the project is designed per LEED requirements.
