Waterproof Speakers with Compact Frame Sizes Carry IP67 Ratings

TUALATIN, Ore. — September 18, 2018 — CUI’s Audio Group today announced the addition of several waterproof micro speaker models, with Ingress Protection (IP) ratings of IP67, to its CMS product family. Housed in compact packages measuring as small as 15 x 11 mm with profiles as low as 2.5 mm, these waterproof speakers are ideal for portable and handheld electronic devices subject to the moisture and environmental contaminants found in industrial and outdoor applications.

These rectangular frame models feature sound pressure levels (SPLs) ranging from 90 to 93 dB at 0.1 meters, nominal inputs of 0.7 W, resonance frequencies from 550 to 800 Hz, and impedance ratings of 6 or 8 ohms. All series further offer spring contact, solder pad, or wire lead mounting styles and are constructed with Neodymium magnets and mylar cones for added durability.
