Maximum Security Shredder Has Automatic Oiler

WESTBORO, MA "" The new Model 5140C/3 maximum security shredder from Security Engineered Machinery (SEM) has a built-in oiling system that keeps the cutting blades sharp even under constant use. Shredding paper to 1mm x 5mm particles, it meets the requirements as set forth in NSA/CSS 02-01 for paper destruction.

The 5140C/3 is a cross-cut shredder, cutting in two directions. Photoelectric controls provide for hands-free start and stop; the cutters are activated by the introduction of documents (up to 12 sheets at a time) and are automatically shut off seconds later when the material is shredded. If the door of the machine is open or the bag inside is full, the blades will not operate and an indicator light will signal the problem.

The automatic oiler provides continuous oil flow to the cutting heads, improving performance and extending blade life. The oiler's feed rate can be set for light or heavy use. Refilling the reservoir bottle is clean and simple.

Shredding at a speed of 40 feet per minute, the 5140C/3 has a 1 1/2-HP motor. Its dimensions are 41" x 23" x 21". It weighs 275 lbs. and has a throat width of 16".
