Expanded Offering of Crimp Tools for Industrial Use from Weidmuller

RICHMOND, VA (March 6, 2009) - Weidmuller is pleased to announce the addition of two new crimp tools to their extensive line of industrial grade wire preparation tools. The CTIN CM 1.6/2.5 and CTIN CM 3.6 are designed to expertly crimp six types of turned/machined contacts, including types HD, HE, HX, M3, M5 and M10. Although turned/machined contacts have many industrial uses, they are primarily used on conductors being inserted into rectangular connectors, such as Weidmuller's HDC RockStar line.

The CTIN CM 1.6/2.5 and CTIN CM 3.6 crimpers both feature an ergonomic design that requires minimal applied force to successfully crimp the contact to the wire. A built-in stop allows for exact positioning of the contacts. In addition, the new crimp tools include a digital crimp setting that provides accuracy to within 0.1mm. The CTIN CM 1.6/2.5 tool crimps contacts for wire sizes ranging from 26-9 AWG, greatly expanding the previous range of Weidmuller crimpers. The CTIN CM 3.6, designed to handle a higher gauge wire, crimps contacts for wire sizes ranging from 16-7 AWG.

As with all Weidmuller crimping tools, these new additions have a long service life and provide accurate crimp results time after time. Conforming to the requirements of DIN 41 641 Part 1, Weidmuller crimpers are designed to withstand the high practical demands of every day use. On-going quality control measures and endurance testing ensure that our crimping tools will perform to the highest standards over the life of the tool. Incomplete crimping and mistakes are virtually eliminated due to an integrated ratchet mechanism that allows the tool to open only when the crimping process has been fully completed. In addition, a disengaging option is available to open the ratchet at any time to remove the ferrule if an error has occurred.
