Creform Cart First for The First Responders at Health Care Events

Greer, SC—Creform Corporation, a manufacturer of unique products for material handling structures has designed and produced a cart specifically aimed at assisting first responders at health care events. The challenge to the design and manufacture was to improve their material handling and logistics. Creform provided the engineering assistance, custom sizes and configuration to meet the challenge and provided fully assembled, ready-to-use carts.

The cart shown holds plastic bins of equipment and supplies to support events at employer sites and at public venues. These events need to be quickly set up and torn down, without damage, to allow worker efficiency and safety. The unit is built with clamped together 28 mm plastic coated steel pipe and metal joints. It features one large compartment area with provides damage free handling and easy load/unload. The cart features a durable and low-friction plastic floor and two doors that lock close in order to capture the load and, if necessary, to swing wide for access.

It features six 8 in. diameter swivel casters with rubber wheels for easy, stable and safe movement. Two casters are fixed for steering control while two of the four swivels feature brakes that can be engaged to lock the cart in place. Wheels lend themselves to easily moving the carts from point to point. Their large diameter improves ability to travel on and off the truck and across irregular surfaces such as sidewalks and door thresholds.

The cart features large ring bumpers on each corner for further protection of the load and cart and a push/pull handle at one end of the cart positioned for proper ergonomics to facilitate easy movement. The cart has overall dimensions of 51" L x 24" D x 56" T and is designed to hold up to 500 lb.

As with all Creform carts, higher capacity and custom cart sizes and configurations are possible with the Creform system of 28 mm, 32 mm and 42 mm plastic coated steel pipes and metal joints. They can be configured for ESD (anti-static) applications

Although the cart pictured is shown in metallic silver, a wide variety of pipe color options are available and upgrade hitches are available for AGV delivery. Accessories include hooks, label holders for shelf levels or even shelf positions, writing surface with clip boards to name a few. Creform carts are available as a kit, assembled structure or in component form for a complete DIY solution

The Creform System is used to create an array of material handling and efficiency enhancing devices and is a proven component in continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing programs. The company partners with customers in developing and implementing these programs.
