Crawler System uses camera lift accessory for inspection.

Press Release Summary:

With camera lift accessory, ROVVER 125 operators can maintain center view in pipelines as large as 36 in. Made of lightweight aluminum, accessory raises height of camera centerline by 1/3-4 in. in .5 in. increments while keeping crawler's center of gravity as low as possible. Spring latch holds height setting and allows manual adjustments. Accessory is compatible with all existing ROVVER 125 crawlers and axial, pan/tilt, zoom, and Digisewer cameras.

Envirosight Enhances ROVVER with New Camera Lift Accessory

ROVVER® 125 Camera Lift Accessory Raises Camera to Improve Video Inspections in Pipelines as Large as 36" Diameter.

Randolph, New Jersey-March 8, 2007-ROVVER 125 operators can now maintain a more centered view in lines as large as 36" with a new camera lift accessory. The accessory installs in seconds and is compatible with all existing ROVVER 125 crawlers and axial, pan/tilt, zoom and Digisewer cameras.

Made of lightweight, durable aluminum, the lift accessory raises the height of the camera centerline by 1/3 to 4" inches in .5" inch increments while keeping the crawler's center of gravity as low as possible. A spring latch holds the height setting and allows easy manual adjustment. Four-point clamping holds the camera securely.

"Adjustable camera height is crucial for maintaining a centerline view and keeping the camera above flow," said Richard Lindner, president of Envirosight. "With the camera properly centered, ROVVER 125 can evenly illuminate the pipe wall and capture consistently detailed visual information from all regions. This new accessory adjusts in seconds, unlike older systems that require wheel changes or track-bar build-up to change height."

Trusted for nearly 20 years, ROVVER crawler systems boast a modular design that allows quick reconfiguration for any combination of pipe size, material and condition. Steerability and short wheelbase allow ROVVER crawlers to navigate past debris and obstructions, climb offsets, and pass through inverts and curved access points. Three chassis sizes allow inspection of pipelines 4" to 60" diameter. The ROVVER line also offers a fully automatic cable reel, which uses a precision tension sensor to reduce the pulling burden on the crawler (thus extending inspection range), as well as to prevent cable tangles during backward crawl. Compact in size and drawing less power, ROVVER systems are also more portable and require substantially less operational overhead.
