Cox Launches 50/5 Internet Speeds in Connecticut with DOCSIS 3.0
Cox Offers the Fastest Download Speed in the Marketplace
MANCHESTER, Conn., Aug. 12 -- Cox Communications announced the launch of Cox Ultimate Internet to residential and business customers in Connecticut, powered by DOCSIS 3.0 technology. The Ultimate Tier allows for download speeds of 50 Mbps and upload speeds of 5 Mbps (up to 55/5 with PowerBoost(TM). The download speed is the fastest available in the area, which considerably improves online gaming and streaming video experiences, among others.

The third generation of cable's DOCSIS service introduces channel bonding, a technology that can bond parallel cable channels to transmit data at faster speeds. Those speeds are further enhanced with PowerBoost(TM), a cable-exclusive technology that provides an extra burst of speed when it's needed.
