Couplings offer high torque capacity and zero backlash.

Press Release Summary:

NOMAR® rigid shaft couplings are available in 3-piece design, allowing for exchange or adjusting of coupled shafts. Either side of coupling can be detached and shaft removed without disturbing other shaft connection. Straight or stepped bores are available from ¼-2 in. and 6-50 mm in aluminum, carbon steel, and stainless steel. All units are supplied with NYPATCH® anti-vibration socket head cap screws to reduce unwanted screw loosening.

Ruland's Special Three-Piece Rigid Couplings

Ruland NOMAR® rigid shaft couplings are available in a three-piece design by special order. This design allows for more convenient exchange or adjusting of coupled shafts, particularly where the shaft cannot be axially detached. Either side of the coupling can be detached and the shaft removed without disturbing the other shaft connection. The three-piece design also accommodates a small variation between the sizes of the shafts being connected by clamping independently on the two shafts.

NOMAR® rigid shaft couplings from Ruland are available with straight or stepped bores from ¼" to 2" in the inch series and 6mm to 50mm in the metric series in aluminum, carbon steel and stainless steel. One- and two-piece styles with or without keyways are available as standard parts. Keyways are available on the three-piece style as well. Straight-bore NOMAR® rigid couplings, including the three-piece style, are precision honed to ensure shaft alignment and a tight fit for optimum holding power. All NOMAR® rigid couplings are supplied with Ruland's unique NYPATCH® anti-vibration socket head cap screws to reduce the likelihood of unwanted screw loosening.

The benefits of Ruland NOMAR® rigid shaft couplings include their precise alignment, easy installation, high torque capacity and zero-backlash. They are suitable for applications where misalignment is neither present nor desired, including connecting line shafting or attaching a motor to a gearbox. NOMAR® rigid shaft couplings are increasingly used in motion control applications with properly aligned components. For misaligned components, Ruland offers Flexbeam(TM) shaft couplings to accommodate misalignment.
