Coupling Assembly System suits 14-24 in. piping projects.

Press Release Summary:

Mechanical Advanced Groove System consists of flexible and rigid couplings, fittings, valves, and accessories with continuous seal around gasket and wedge-shaped groove that delivers pressure ratings up to 350 psi. Couplings have 2-piece housing secured with 2 bolts; bolt-pad-to-bolt-pad design provides visual confirmation of proper assembly. System also simplifies pipe end preparation by using single groove profile to eliminate pipe end flare.

Victaulic Unveils Its Fastest, Strongest Mechanical Coupling for Large Diameter Pipe

Advanced Groove System's innovative design offers comprehensive solution for 14-24 inch piping projects

ORLANDO, Fla., February 7-9, 2005 (AHR EXPO; Booth 2386) - Victaulic Company, the original innovator of grooved mechanical pipe joining, announced today the launch of the patent-pending Advanced Groove System (AGS) - the company's strongest mechanical coupling assembly system in the 14-24 inch pipe size range. The new AGS offering, which consists of flexible and rigid couplings, fittings, valves and accessories, will replace the current offering in this size range.

Designed for use in a variety of commercial building and industrial applications, AGS features an innovative, wedge-shaped groove that delivers pressure ratings up to 350 psi. The new design - with a more robust coupling housing and a deeper, wider groove - offers strong joint integrity and a continuous seal around the gasket.

"Since our first product entered the marketplace 80 years ago, Victaulic has continued to deliver comprehensive, start-to-finish solutions that our customers expect from a mechanical joining innovator," said Chuck Wilk, Product Manager, Victaulic. "We engineered AGS - with input from engineers and contractors - to offer design and installation benefits that are superior to welding or flanging."

AGS couplings consist of a two-piece housing secured with just two bolts, making assembly both fast and easy. AGS couplings also offer visual confirmation of proper assembly via a bolt-pad-to-bolt-pad design.

In addition to streamlining coupling assembly, AGS also simplifies pipe end preparation by using a single groove profile that is designed to virtually eliminate the possibility of pipe end flare. Specific AGS roll sets are used with existing Victaulic tools (Models VE416FSD, VE414MC and VE436MC).
