Corrosion Prevention Compound protects injection molding systems.

Press Release Summary:

Formulated without sulfates, chlorides, or halogens, Corrosion Zero is applied directly to steel surface of molding machines to prevent deterioration and contamination of all surfaces and mechanical close-tolerance components. Compound disrupts electromechanical reaction that causes corrosion, and anti-corrosive inhibitor provides lubrication. Eliminating general and fretting corrosion as well as static electricity and corona, this self-healing product is non-conductive and non-flammable.

Corrosion Protection for Injection Molding Systems

Palmetto Florida.  Millions of dollars are lost each year because of the down time suffered by the injection molding industry due to corrosion.

In the injection molding process, materials such as metals, glasses, thermoplastic and thermosetting polymers are placed in to a metal drum where they are mixed together, heated and pushed into a mold cavity.  The part is then cooled where it hardens into the specified part.

Many of the materials used for molding cause corrosion, either because they contain acids that eat away at metal, or in the case of metal injection molding, a less reactive metal can cause a more reactive metal to preferentially corrode.  Atmospheric moisture, and and the high heat of molding which speeds up chemical reactions, add to the problem.

Corrosion of molds and machine parts causes a loss of production, as well safety and environmental concerns.

A special corrosion-preventative compound has been formulated without sulfates, chlorides, or halogens, which is unexcelled in preventing the deterioration and contamination of all surfaces and mechanical close-tolerance components.

The compound, called Corrosion Zero, is applied directly to the steel surface of the molding machines.  The chemical compound disrupts the electromechanical reaction that causes corrosion. The compound contains an extremely long-lasting, specially formulated, proprietary anti-corrosive inhibitor that provides a superior lubrication coefficient.  It eliminates both general and fretting corrosion as well as static electricity and corona.

While conventional corrosion preventatives may be scratched away by the friction of moving parts in the molding machines or by particles in the material that is being molded, Corrosion Zero is “self-healing”. It is a non-conductive, non-flammable product with a 550F flash point.

Other industries presently using Corrosion Zero include general manufacturing, electronic instrumentation, mining and naval construction and repair facilities.
