Corning Cable Systems to Highlight Innovation in Fiber-to-the-Antenna Solutions at CTIA Wireless 2010®

HICKORY, N.C. - Corning Cable Systems LLC, part of Corning Incorporated's (NYSE:GLW) Telecommunications segment, will feature its innovative Evolant® Solutions for Wireless Networks including fiber-to-the-antenna at CTIA Wireless 2010®, Mar. 23-25, in Las Vegas.

In its exhibit (booth #3950), customers will be able to see exactly where Evolant Solutions for Wireless Networks fit into their network deployment and enable service providers to easily install and upgrade wireless networks. The virtually unlimited capacity of optical fiber ensures that products installed today will remain viable and ideally suited for tomorrow's technologies.

Customers will experience first-hand how Corning Cable Systems' cables utilizing ClearCurve® bend-insensitive optical fibers can be deployed in buildings for roof-top wireless antenna deployments as easily as copper communication cables, using standard installation techniques and eliminating the need for microduct. Attendees can enter to win a Dell® Inspiron Mini 10 Netbook at ClearCurve fiber demonstrations, taking place daily in Corning Cable Systems' booth at 1:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

The Corning Cable Systems exhibit will also feature:

o The OptiSheath® MF2 Terminal is a two-fiber-per-port preterminated terminal that simplifies roof-top and cell tower fiber distribution, especially for remote radio head deployments.

o The Wireless Demarcation Cabinet (WDC) allows wireless backhaul providers to easily manage fiber drops to base stations on the cell site, and the robust metal design provides exceptional protection from weather. The WDC is lightweight, lockable, shot gun resistant and has been tested to Telcordia GR-2898 specifications for fiber demarcation boxes.

o Cable assemblies using the environmentally-hardened OptiTip® Multi-Fiber Connector are ideal for rapid deployment of roof-top and tower-based cellular equipment. The connector is able to withstand temperature extremes, vibration, dust penetration and prolonged water submersion.

The OptiTip® Multi-Fiber Connector offers optical loss levels that rival traditional fusion splicing and a small footprint that allows installation in either open environments or ducts as small as one inch.
