Cornell TranZform® Fire Found Compliant for Means of Egress Openings

ICC-ES evaluated horizontal sliding fire doors provide alternative equal

Mountaintop, Pennsylvania

Cornell announces that TranZform Accordion Folding Fire Doors have been evaluated by the International Code Council Evaluation Service to be compliant for use in means of egress openings per the International Building Code®. Now, as per Evaluation Report ESR-2300, TranZform Fire provides an alternative equal for rated side-hinge swinging doors in means of egress openings such as elevator lobbies, horizontal exits and as opening protectives in fire rated corridors.

Designed to provide automatic closing in the event of fire detection, TranZform Fire units are rated physical fire barriers that protect openings from the spread of fire and smoke. And, TranZform Fire units can be used in openings that are part of a required means of egress. As an alternative to banks of fire rated swing doors, TranZform Fire units can be used to provide functionality and aesthetics across full opening widths. Units are built to order to fit openings up to 22 feet in height to a maximum of 1600 square feet.

"Cornell is proud to protect the safety of building occupants with unique, code compliant options," said Steve Gallacher, Vice President of Marketing at Cornell. "The design solutions offered by TranZform Fire compliment Cornell's full line of emergency response products and operators."

TranZform Fire again demonstrates Cornell's 180-year commitment to meeting the real needs of the market. Whether seeking quality, performance, reliability or overall satisfaction, customers have always known that they're Safe and Secure with Cornell.
