Emerson Introduces New Range of High Performance Coriolis Meters for Low Flow Applications

New compact, drainable Micro Motion® ELITE® Coriolis meters deliver highly accurate measurement for a range of applications

BOULDER, COLO (June 16, 2009) - Emerson Process Management is expanding its Micro Motion® ELITE® Coriolis meter offering for low flow applications. The new Micro Motion meters are compact in design and available in two sizes, 2mm and 4mm nominal diameter, delivering +0.05% liquid flow accuracy, +0.35% gas accuracy, +0.0005 g/cc liquid density accuracy for flow rates of 0.07 lb/min to 12 lb/min (2 kg/h to 330kg/h).

Low flow rate applications often require measurement devices that can deliver high turndown capability with uncompromising measurement performance in real-world conditions. Likewise, these applications often require meters that are drainable and have a compact footprint. The new Micro Motion ELITE Coriolis meters have been precisely engineered with these exact challenges in mind, offering stability and robust performance in a drainable, slim and lightweight package.

The new Micro Motion ELITE meters are less than 2 inches (50mm) wide to fit in tight spaces and weigh just 9lbs (4kg), eliminating the need for special mounting support. Full secondary containment is standard. With 316L stainless steel wetted parts, the sensor enclosure is available with polished 316L external surface and rounded corners. Superior cleanability and corrosion resistance make the new meters an ideal fit for both hygienic and off-shore applications. For corrosive and high pressure applications, the Micro Motion Coriolis meters are also available in Nickel Alloy construction and are rated to 6000 psi (413 bar).

The advantage of the new Micro Motion ELITE Coriolis meters comes not just from the state-of-the-art sensor design, but powerful electronics that ensure fast and noise-free signal processing to deliver the best available two-phase flow measurement capability and empty-full-empty batching. These meters are available with in-situ Micro Motion meter verification technology, the only true and complete assessment of meter performance (sensor through electronics) at the touch of a button. The new Micro Motion ELITE Coriolis meters are available with 4-wire or 2-wire electronics, and with a variety of analog outputs or digital protocols including FOUNDATION(TM) fieldbus, Profibus DP and DeviceNet.

All Micro Motion Coriolis devices reliably measure mass flow, volume flow, density and temperature from a single device and can measure multiple products without the need for recalibration. Designed for batching, dosing, filling, blending and a wide range of process applications, the new Micro Motion ELITE Coriolis meters are ideal for the Chemical, Oil & Gas, Food and Beverage, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical and OEM industries. To complete the low flow measurement range, the new Micro Motion meters are complemented by Micro Motion LF-Series Coriolis meters that deliver precise measurement down to 0.002 lb/min (0.06 kg/h), an ideal fit for research and pilot plants.
