Coreless Spin-On Filters Provide High-Efficiency Filtration Without Environmental Impact

HOUSTON, APRIL 30, 2007 - Environmentally friendly 12AS and 50AS Coreless Spin-On Filters from Parker's Hydraulic Filter Division provide an innovative alternative to the traditional, disposable spin-on style can. The new design provides the same high efficiency and long life of Microglass III filtration but without the environmental impact.

Each year more than 500 million spin-on cans wind up in North American landfills, yielding 250,000 tons of scrap metal and 30 million gallons of discarded residual waste oil. The disposal costs add up.

The new patented 12AS and 50AS feature a reusable bowl and patented filter element constructed primarily of nylon and fiberglass. The element core is permanently attached as part of the filter bowl. When replaced, the element reduces costs, eliminates hot drain requirements, can be incinerated easily and is better suited for most landfills than traditional spin-on filter waste. The patented element design also prevents filter operation if the proper element is not in place.

The 500 psi filters are rated up to 50 gpm. Premium Ecoglass III elements are standard. These filters can be installed anywhere outdated spin-ons are used.

Applications include mobile equipment, compressors and hydraulic power units.

The 12AS and 50AS Coreless spin-on filters come in a variety of sizes to meet different application needs.
