Dewalt® Introduces Cordless Offset Shear
April 2007 - DeWALT, a leading manufacturer of industrial power tools, introduces the industry's first cordless offset shear, the 18V offset 18ga offset shear. (DC495KA). The DC495KA is the only cordless shear on the market that eliminates "waste ribbon" and provides users with the ability to easily turn the tool and make radius cuts. The offset shear is ideal for cutting spiral duct and uneven, non-flat sheet metal. Designed for use at plant maintenance, transportation, HVAC, manufacturing and general fabrication shops, the DC495KA offers end users increased levels of versatility and durability.
The DC495KA features an innovative shear head design that provides users with increased versatility. Users can turn the shears to make radius cuts as small as 1" in diameter, cut through 20 gauge spiral seam and uneven, non-flat materials. Additionally, the new shear head design separates materials without creating the "waste ribbon" that commonly occurs when cutting with traditional double-cutter shears. For additional versatility, the head rotates 360 degrees allowing users to access tight spaces.
Variable speed of 0-2,300 SPM provides users with superior control, and an ergonomic design with an anti-slip comfort grip promotes user comfort.
