Original Press Release:

New Series of 12 and 14.4 Volt Driver/Drills Are Compact in Size, Big in Performance

Milwaukee introduces the new Compact Series of 12 and 14.4 volt Cordless Driver/Drills with the exclusive Clip-Lok(TM) System. The rugged Compact Series drills are compact in size for working in tight spaces but deliver high RPMs for fast and efficient drilling and fastening. This new compact tool design allows for greater control and reduced fatigue for enhanced productivity. The new battery packs also have a compact profile, making them ideal for use in close quarters work.

The exclusive Clip-Lok(TM) System allows for convenient, hands-free transportation of the drill and provides a convenient place to position the tool. The Clip-Lok benefits include:

o One-handed load and release of the tool

o The tool securely "locks" onto the belt clip

o Bit storage for two bits

o Bit holder and Clip-Lok can be used on either side of the tool.

These drills feature a single-sleeve, ratcheting chuck that provides better bit-grip strength. This quiet spindle lock mechanism relieves the stress of metal slamming on metal, for increased durability and smooth operation. The 12 volt drill has a 3/8-inch capacity chuck and the 14.4 volt drill has a 1/2-inch capacity chuck.

Milwaukee's Compact Series has a powerful 2-speed motor that provides 0-400/0-1,400 RPM and 390 in.-lbs of torque (14.4 volt model) and rubber bumpers, which help prevent the tool from sliding off sloped surfaces. The new Compact Series Driver/Drills, model 0612-22 (14.4 volt) and model 0602-22 (12 volt), have a 20-position clutch. Both models offer ergonomically designed T-handles with soft-grip cushioned, non-slip surfaces for reduced fatigue and vibration.

Another exclusive to Milwaukee is the reversible battery which allows the user to alter the change the battery position from forward to backward to better suit the environment they are working in or to distribute the weight of the tool for optimized balance when working overhead or in hard to reach applications.

The new Compact Series Driver/Drills are backed by Milwaukee's 5-Year Tool Limited warranty and Service Plus Program, providing one year of free maintenance when shipped to a Milwaukee Branch Office/Service Center.
