Milwaukee Introduces Lok-Tor(TM) Series of Cordless Drills

New generation of Driver/Drills and Hammer-Drills Provide High Torque and High Speed

Brookfield, WI (October 1, 2002) - Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation introduces the new Lok-Tor(TM) Series of 14.4 volt and 18 volt cordless driver/drills and hammer-drills. The Lok-Tor series drills deliver high torque, higher speeds, longer run-time and the continued durability and quality expected from a Milwaukee Electric tool. All new Lok-Tor models feature an All-Metal Single-Sleeve Ratcheting Chuck with carbide jaws exclusive to Milwaukee. These new chucks provide the highest grip torque on drill and screwdriver bits.

Equipped with Milwaukee designed and built, high efficiency motors, the Lok-Tor Series drills offer the most torque in the industry, up to 495 in.-lbs on the 18 volt models. Delivering the load of this powerful motor, are 3-stages of 15 all-metal planets. The extra planets disperse the load of the gear teeth more evenly, reducing stress on the individual teeth adding to its rugged durability. These drills also produce the highest speed for 2-speed gear cases, up to 1,700 RPM. Superior battery technology combined with the high efficiency motor provide for the ultimate run-time in a cordless drill.

Milwaukee is the only power tool company to provide a dampened or quiet spindle lock mechanism. This quiet spindle lock mechanism relieves the stress of metal slamming on metal, for increased durability and smooth operation.

These drills feature externally replaceable brushes, for ease of serviceability. An ergonomically enhanced soft grip handle and soft grip finger grip area provide for increased comfort and control.

Another exclusive to Milwaukee is the reversible battery which allows the user to alter the battery pack orientation to better suit the environment they are working in or to distribute the weight of the tool for optimized balance when working overhead or in hard to reach applications. In addition, the new Lok-Tor Series uses the same Power-Plus batteries and Universal Charger of the current drill line.

The new Lok-Tor Series Drills are backed by Milwaukee's limited warranty and Service Plus Program, providing one year of free maintenance when shipped to a Milwaukee Branch Office/Service Center.
