Designed to deliver maximum performance, Makita engineers developed the series with a new two-piece D-31 motor, delivering power, efficiency, and serviceability. The armature is supported with dual sealed ball bearings, large cooling fan and is precisely balanced for reduced friction, reduced temperature and increased tool life. Utilizing a refined high-grade field magnet and the highest quality raw materials, the technologically advanced D-31 motor guarantees maximum performance not available in a typical "can" style cordless motor.
Transferring the power from the motor to the bit is a new all metal gear transmission protected in a dust-proof housing. The rugged 3-stage, 13-planetary gear system provides smooth, efficient power for the most demanding applications. The speed selector switch utilizes a fully engaged gear for positive transfer from low to high speed for increased durability.
The MFORCE(TM) Series Drills are the first to come with Makita's exclusive Shift Lock(TM) Drive System, offering instant, one-touch shifting from "drill" to "driver" mode for increased operator efficiency. When placed in drill mode, the Shift Lock(TM) Drive System Shifts to Full Power(TM) and locks out the clutch for superior drilling power.
Two high capacity 2.6Ah Nickel-Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) Batteries deliver greater capacity and longer run-time than available in any Ni-Cd Battery. With more time in the tool and less time spent in the charger, Ni-MH Batteries provide more work. Combined with no memory effect and being environmentally friendly, these batteries provide unmatched performance.
