Schurter Introduces High Current Cord Connectors for Angled Mounting

Angled Cords Consume Less Space and Minimize Tripping

SANTA ROSA, Calif., Date (August 16, 2005) - SCHURTER's new power cord connectors are rated for use with cordage up to 16/21A. Two types, 4789 and 4790 (plug or connector), are angled for closer placement of the equipment to the wall, consuming less space and minimizing the potential for tangling or tripping.

The rewireable cord connectors have pillar terminals for ease of safe and reliable wire connections. Unlike straight plugs, an angled plug is less apt to disconnect from the inlet when someone trips over the cord. The stronger connection assures a safer and more reliable supply of power to the equipment. The size of the strain relief can be specified for a 8.7mm or 10mm (16/14AWG) cable.

Approved according to ENEC 16A / 250V and 21A / 125, 250V UL, CSA, the cord connectors are ideal for higher power consuming equipment found in IT environments, high-end household appliances, power electronics (i.e. power supplies, voltage stabilizers) as well as industrial environments. Pricing is $4.31 in 100 piece quantities.
