Tungaloy America Introduces New Y-PRO Series for Copy Turning

Y stands for a corner angle of 25° which is 10° smaller than conventional VNMG inserts. This innovative tool reduces undesired interference with the work piece and allows for machining operations in difficult areas where 35° inserts are not effective.

o New positive style - YWMT inserts with 25° tip angle. The YWMT inserts complement Tungaloy's current YNMG16 negative style inserts.

o The YWMT inserts can reduce costs by covering a broad machining area with a 25° tip angle.

o The YWMT can be used for a wide array of copy turning.

o The YWMT provides excellent chip control in copy turning using Tungaloy's ZF chip breaker for finishing or ZM chip breaker for semi-finishing.

o The YWMT inserts are offered in both CVD and PVD coated carbide grades. Tungaloy's CVD coated carbide T9025 is used for general turning of various steels. PVD coated cermet GT730 excels in finishing and some hard turning applications.

o The YNMG inserts offers all of the same features as the YWMT inserts in a four cornered insert.
