IBM PCI Cryptographic Coprocessor Adapter Designed to Enable Secure Internet Transactions



Overview
The PCI Cryptographic Coprocessor Adapter is designed to provide
high-performance hardware engines for Internet transactions including:
o Secure data exchange
o Verification
o Electronic signatures
o Bulk data encryption and decryption

The cryptographic processes are performed within a tamper-resistant enclosure on the adapter, which meets the FIPS PUB 140-1 standard for commercial cryptographic devices at Level 3.

Key prerequisites
o Supported RS/6000® system with an available PCI slot
o AIX® 4.3.3 with appropriate updates (refer to the Software
requirements section)

The RS/6000 SP(TM) nodes also require IBM Parallel System Support
Programs for AIX (PSSP) V3.1.1 or 3.2.
