Cooper Notification's Wide-Area Mass Notification System Receives CE Mark Approval and TÃœV Certification

Featuring industry-leading intelligibility, the HPSA-7100-R Series, is now approved worldwide.

LONG BRANCH, N.J., - Cooper Notification, a leading supplier of Life Safety and Mass Notification System (MNS) solutions, today announced that it received CE Mark approval and TÃœV certification for its WAVES High Power Speaker Array (HPSA) 7100-R Series. Designed to meet the most stringent Life Safety requirements, the HPSA-7100-R Series provides highly intelligible voice and tone announcements for Wide-Area Mass Notification. Cooper Notification is a solution platform of Cooper Industries plc (NYSE: CBE), a global provider of electrical solutions.

Providing a simple upgrade path to expand emergency communications coverage to outdoor areas, the HPSA-7100-R can be integrated and controlled by an organization's existing audio source, including voice-capable Fire Alarm Control Panels (FACP) as well as Cooper Notification's SAFEPATH®4 (SP40S) Voice Evacuation Systems and SAFEPATH Mass Notification Systems (SPMNS).

Using leading-edge amplification technology, Cooper Notification's High Power Speaker Arrays were also designed for high intelligibility and energy efficiency. The HPSA's vertical line arrays provide a narrow vertical output pattern for focusing sound directly at the audience, which produces better sound pressure and higher intelligibility. By creating a nearly cylindrical sound propagation pattern, the system allows messages to be clearly understood whether a person is 100 feet or 1,500 feet away from the HPSA.

"Achieving the CE Mark approval and TÃœV certification signifies that Cooper Notification has met the rigorous life safety, quality, and performance requirements of these internationally recognized regulatory agencies," said Scott Hearn, President, Cooper Notification. "It demonstrates our commitment in providing innovative solutions for our partners and customers."

The HPSA-7100-R Series has been evaluated and declared compliant to CE, including the Low Voltage Directive (LVD), Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and the stringent EN50130-4 standard for alarm systems. In addition, the Wide-Area MNS was approved by TÃœV to the CUE certification requirements, which covers U.S., Canadian and European approvals to UL/CSA/EN 60950-1.
