Cooper Lighting Introduces Extensive Offering of LED Outdoor Solutions

Setting the industry benchmark for optical performance and reliability

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga., January 26, 2010 - Cooper Lighting, a division of Cooper Industries plc (NYSE: CBE) has announced the introduction of one of the industry's largest LED outdoor product offerings providing relevant LED solutions for Streetlighting, Area/Site, Wall Mount, Parking Garage, Canopy and Pathway applications. Designed to meet today's demanding energy and environmental needs for every outdoor lighting space, this initial rollout includes 16 new energy-efficient luminaires featuring Cooper Lighting's patent pending modular LightBAR(TM) technology and AccuLED(TM) Optics providing unmatched optical performance and superior light quality. Setting the industry benchmark for energy-efficient performance and reliability, the extensive outdoor offering is a result of Cooper Lighting's commitment to providing relevant, industry-leading solutions to meet demanding and challenging market needs. The new outdoor luminaires, which can provide up to 75% in energy savings over traditional High Intensity Discharge (H.I.D.) outdoor sources, are represented across four of Cooper Lighting's company brands including Invue, McGraw-Edison, Lumark and Streetworks.

"Cooper Lighting is committed to providing industry-leading lighting solutions with traditional lamps, LED systems, and controls to deliver operating cost savings and environmental benefits for the end-user customers and our channel partners," says Neil Schrimsher, President, Cooper Lighting. "Cooper continues to invest heavily in each of these areas with strategic acquisitions, internal product development and best-in-class infrastructure. The acquisition of Illumination Management Solutions in 2009 added leading technology and IP to Cooper Lighting's already vast application, luminaire and channel expertise. We are excited to launch this industry-leading LED outdoor product offering highlighted by superior scalability, performance and reliability."

Cooper Lighting's LightBAR(TM) technology provides energy savings between 30-75% over standard H.I.D. systems while providing 50,000+ hour rated life that is six times longer than traditional metal halide sources found in most outdoor commercial applications. Cooper Lighting's LightBAR(TM) modular design allows lumen and energy output to be scaled and optimized for each application, fulfilling the exact custom needs of the space. This results in the elimination of wasted energy, obtrusive spill light and over lighting of spaces. Each LED LightBAR(TM) optic renders a unique, application-specific light pattern designed to provide even, uniform illumination. Bi-level switching options allow further energy savings while still closely maintaining lighting uniformity levels.

Cooper Lighting's patent pending AccuLED Optics(TM) are offered in 17 unique optical distributions providing versatility to satisfy every outdoor need. Boasting superior efficiency-as high as 95%-AccuLED Optics(TM) are up to 30% more efficient than traditional H.I.D. optical systems. The Cooper Lighting LightBAR(TM) provides a benchmark warm white light of 4000K correlated color temperature (CCT)-standard across all products-with no sacrifice in lumen output. With typical LED outdoor solutions standardized on a cold blue color temperature (6000-6500K CCT), Cooper Lighting LightBAR(TM) equipped fixtures by comparison provide specifiers and end-users a preferred color choice similar to a ceramic metal halide lamp.

All luminaires are Dark Sky Compliant solving the public concern of both light trespass and sky glow/light pollution.

This extensive offering of outdoor products include the McGraw-Edison Ventus LED and Talon LED architectural area luminaires, the Concise LED canopy luminaire, the Valet LED parking garage luminaire and the Impact Elite LED wall series. Cooper's Invue line of architectural luminaires offers LED choices in the Vision Site LED area luminaire, the Mesa LED decorative luminaire as well as the Entri LED wall series. The company's Lumark line includes the RC LED Cobrahead roadway luminaire as well as the Ridgeview LED site luminaire. Cooper's Streetworks line serves the utility market and will feature the OVH LED Cobrahead, the Ridgeview LED site and Ventus LED area/roadway luminaires, among others. These new products, in conjunction with Cooper's current LED outdoor and indoor luminaires, provide unmatched industry LED solutions.
