Martin Engineering Introduces Self-Adjusting Skirtboard Seal
BOCO(TM) Automatic Skirting Maintains Effective Seal Against Spillage
BOCO(TM) Automatic Skirting, a new skirtboard sealing system that self-adjusts to keep material on the belt and prevent loading zone spillage, has been introduced by Martin Engineering, Neponset, Illinois.
BOCO(TM) Automatic Skirting floats on the belt, self-adjusting to maintain effective seal without maintenance. Supported on pressure arms between two steel plates, the system's rubber sealing strip rises and falls with fluctuations in belt travel to automatically maintain an effective seal.
With a wear life of 1.25 inches (32 mm), BOCO(TM) Automatic Skirting provides an extended wear life. When worn, replacement of the sealing strip is a no-tool operation, as the rubber is held in place with linchpins.
BOCO(TM) Rubber Sealing Strip is available in lengths up to 300 feet (91.4 m) to allow installation as one continuous strip along the load zone. This will eliminate the possibility for material leakage in the joints between two strips.
With the lowest belt edge requirement of any commercial skirtboard sealing system, new BOCO(TM) Skirting is designed to fit on any belt. It provides an effective seal on conveyors with as little as 2.75 inches (70 mm) of free area on each side of the belt.
