Conveyor Hanger System eliminates welding and bolting.

Press Release Summary:

With mechanical design, system utilizes ¾ in. piece of flame-cut steel plate machined in form of letter J. With J-hook facing down, piece is pre-welded horizontally aside top of steel angle. System is attached by wrapping J-hook around top of support channel. J-hook grips protruding edge of beam while vertical steel bar of hanger rests against back of supporting C-channel. Once in place, it can slide laterally across length of C-channel.

Hanger System Eliminates Welding and Bolting to Speed Conveyor Installation

SOUDERTON, PA - An exclusive, new Hanger System from W.A. Schmidt relies on a simple mechanical design that allows quick installation and movability. The Hanger System is as strong and stable as traditional hanging devices but, without the need to be welded or bolted in place, can be installed and positioned perfectly with minimal time and effort.

The typical method to secure a conveyor from a joist involves creating a makeshift hanging device by welding or bolting steel angles to support beams. This solution is time-consuming to install and adjust. Once it is moved, every point of attachment requires a new steel angle to be welded or bolted in place. Lacking the need to remove bolts or break the weld, W.A. Schmidt's Hanger System can be moved or adjusted as needed by sliding the Hanger along the support beam.

The design of W.A. Schmidt's Hanger System features a piece of 3/4-inch, flame-cut steel plate that has been machined in the form of the letter "J". With the J-hook facing down, the piece is pre-welded horizontally aside the top of a steel angle. The Hanger System is attached by simply wrapping the J-hook around the top of a support channel. The i-hook grips the protruding edge of the beam like a claw while the vertical steel bar of the Hanger rests snuggly against the back of tile supporting C-channel. Once in place, it can slide laterally across the length of the C-channel. After a conveyor or a piece of equipment is attached to the vertical steel bar, W.A. Schmidt's Hanger System stays securely in place.

W.A. Schmidt can customize its Hanger System to a variety of lengths and beam widths.

W.A. Schmidt designs and custom-engineers high quality wide-span and modular mezzanines plus a variety of other material handling products. Schmidt has completed more than 22,000 material handling equipment installations throughout North America and overseas.
