Solartron Metrology Introduces SI 3500 Orbit Controller

Versatile Instrument Interface for Solartron Metrology Transducers

BOGNOR REGIS, WEST SUSSEX, ENGLAND-The new SI 3500 Orbit® Controller from Solartron Metrology is specifically designed to operate with Solatron gauging transducers operating on Solartron's Orbit® Network. The plug and play instrument features a menu-driven color display that can be simply programmed to set limits and record other parameters.

Powered by a 24-Vdc source, the SI 3500 can be used to display a single or multiple transducer readings or computed results, such as A, B, A+B, (A+B)/2 or (A-B)/2, as well as computations with constants, such as angle measurements. Set up is accomplished via IP65-protected front keypad that can be password protected, if required. The SI3500 also features discrete inputs/outputs and a selection of analogue outputs in form of 4-20mA or DC voltage.

Orbit® controllers and modules perform measurement as well as some control functions and can be networked together into a highly versatile plug-and-go measurement system. The Orbit® Network is able to host a variety of third-part sensors in addition to interfacing with other Solartron products, providing a complete dimensional measurement and data acquisition system.
