FlexController is a PC-based system for measurement, control, and automation of power, thermal, motion, lighting, and flow applications. The system is comprised of a mixed-signal microcontroller and intuitive Active X Control that can be commanded through Visual Basic. Key features include 16 total I/O, 5 analog inputs, 1 interval timer, 1 event counter, 1 running clock, 3 power driver outputs, and on-board 5V reference with EEPROM calibration. An embedded real-time operating system performs digital filtering, error detection, and synchronization of hardware events. Closed-loop PC updates are interrupt driven at 12.8mS intervals through an isolated multi-drop serial bus. The PCB is 3.Oin x 1.7in and draws 12mA typical supply current. Educational application examples are provided along with free software containing graphing and logging functions.
