Controller handles three pumps in parallel.

Press Release Summary:

Technologic 500 Series combination pump logic controller and variable frequency drive is suitable for pumping applications such as HVAC and pressure boosting. With 2 discrete analog inputs for zone sensors, and 1 analog input for flow sensor, controller protects against damaging hydraulic conditions including pump flow surges, hunting, end of curve, and system overpressure. In multi-pump systems, it automatically starts lag pump upon lead pump failure.

ITT Bell & Gossett Adds New Technologic 500 Series Pump Controller To Its Powersav Line

Morton Grove, IL February 25, 2002 - A new combination pump logic controller and variable frequency drive capable of controlling up to a total of three pumps in parallel has been added to Bell & Gossett's popular line of microprocessor-driven pump controllers.

Featuring both manual and automatic pump alteration in a single enclosure, the new Technologic 500 Series boasts two discrete analog inputs for zone sensors, and one analog sensor for flow sensor. The controller is designed to safeguard against damaging hydraulic conditions including: pump flow surges, hunting, end of curve (flow sensor required), and system over pressure.

A special memory storage function prevents accidental loss of data due to voltage storage surge or spike. In the event of a complete power outage, all field-preset values remain stored and can be recalled.

The Technologic 500 Series is specifically designed for pumping applications such as HVAC and pressure boosting. It is capable of receiving up to two discrete analog inputs from zone sensor/transmitters, and then selecting the analog signal that has deviated the greatest amount from the set point. This selected signal is used as the command feedback input for a hydraulic stabilization function to minimize hunting, and each input signal is capable of maintaining a different set point value.

The scan and compare rate that selects the command setpoint and process variable signal is continuous and automatically set for optimum operation. Each sensor is scanned every two milliseconds. Other features of the Technologic 500 include:

* Auto start of lag pump upon lead pump failure (for multi-pump systems
* Motor overload protectior
* NEMA 1 enclosure
* UL and CUL listed, CE marked
* Diagnostic Display
* High System Cutout
* No Flow Shutdown
* Serial Communication Compliant
* Fused door interlock disconnect
* Local-off-remote switch

Offering the same proven Common Logic set-up and operating format as other family of Technologic Controllers (Technologic 5000, 1200 and 1100), the 500 provides the same clear, detailed messages, status indications and diagnostics in plain English on a standard 4 line, 20 character illuminated LCD display for easy viewing in all lighting conditions.
