Yaskawa Introduces New Mechatronic Control System with Full IEC61131-3 Compatibility

Waukegan, IL -- Yaskawa Electric America, Inc. proudly announces the release of the MotionWorks IEC Mechatronic Control System. MotionWorks IEC software is fully-compatible with the global programming standards specified by IEC61131-3 and PLCopen. Yaskawa's MP2300Siec controller features EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, and MECHATROLINK network connectivity for up to 16 axis of motion control.

The IEC61131-3 programming standard delivers a competitive advantage to machine builders by offering the best of several languages in one development package including function block, ladder program and structured text. MotionWorks IEC software also incorporates PLCopen function blocks for motion control. These standard, reusable code libraries store previously written logic that will significantly reduce development time and improve code quality. End-users will appreciate the familiar behavior and functionality common among many IEC61131-3 platforms. An integrated Web server makes maintenance and troubleshooting easier because no software is required.

The 2.5-inch wide MP2300Siec controller packs in an Ethernet connection with EtherNet/IP scanner/adapter functionality and Modbus TCP/IP master/slave. The MP2300Siec implements MECHATROLINK high-speed, digital network for tightly integrated motion and I/O even when complex motion such as camming or gearing functions are required.
