Draper Introduces New Control System

(Spiceland, Ind.) -Draper, Inc. has introduced IntelliFlex, a new window shade control system designed for maximum flexibility, and user defined control of motorized shades. Company officials say it raises the bar on ease of installation and integration in building automation.

"IntelliFlex really takes the stress out of shade control selection," according to Jere Gianola, Window Shade Product Manager for Draper. "IntelliFlex is so versatile that any type of input device can be used to control the shades -- and the input devices can be easily changed at any time to suit a customer's changing needs or new technologies, and without any rewiring." In fact, Gianola says, the days of calling an electrician back to a job site to reconfigure control wiring are over.

"With IntelliFlex, all shade control is done through programming, so a few button presses is all it takes to get the shades working properly."

Draper IntelliFlex controls can use IR and RF wireless remote, wind and sun sensors, PDAs, AV integrator input devices and PCs to control and adjust hundreds of shades individually and in groups. Through RS232 and Internet Protocol devices, IntelliFlex can also be used to control your shades from anywhere in the world. In addition, Draper's new system allows for four intermediate stops.

"One advantage our intermediate stop function has over others out there in the industry is ease of adjustment," according to Gianola. "You can stand right by the shade with a remote or even a PC notebook and program the stops."

"And when you're done," adds Gianola, "you don't have to worry about the shades getting out of alignment, because the IntelliFlex system periodically recalibrates them."
