IP 67/68 Control Cabinet I/O Extensions

Germantown, WI, April 2005 - WAGO Corporation welcomes the new IP 67/68 rated sensor/actuator junction boxes to the WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM family of products. Designated the 757 Series, this product is said to safely extend control cabinet functions out into the field and locally on the machine or process.

"Our new line of sensor/actuator junction boxes offer a full complement of standard features at very competitive prices," claims Mark DeCramer, Advanced Electronics Product Manager for WAGO Corporation. "Many of the standard features built into the 757 Series would be considered options on competitive products."

The 757 Series is available in 4, 6, or 8 ports per box with either 4 or 5 poles per port (5 pole versions allow 2 signal lines per port). The master cable can be configured via a M23 connector or pre-installed (pre-cabled version). The M23 connector version allows the master cable to be connected/disconnected and offers an IP rating of 67, i.e. protected against dust and effects of immersion - 15 cm and 1 m. While the pre-cabled version offers an IP rating of 68, i.e. protected against dust and long periods of immersion under pressure.

All cables, master or sensor/actuator, are of PUR Halogen-free type and meet the requirements of UL 94 V-0. PUR for its performance in high flexing, bending, and torsion stress applications, as well as its resistance against oil, grease, coolants and other aggressive substances. And, halogen-free for its increased safety (no corrosive emissions, no toxic gases, no flame propagation, and low smoke emission) where there is a risk for property damage or loss of human life due to fire. Likewise, the junction boxes, made of polyamide 6.6, are halogen-free, silicon-free, and rated to UL 94 V-0.

Additional features include a unique spacer accessory which, eases installation via a modular manifold mounting concept; LED indication, for power and signal status; and marking tags/holders for every connection point, for easy circuit identification. Applications for this series include robotics, machine tool, assembly machines, packaging machinery, material handling equipment, ship building, etc. The 757 Series is currently available from stock and ranges in price from $50.00 to $150.00 USD list.
