Colder Products Company Introduces New SaniQuik(TM) Connection to Europe

Hannover, Germany - October 18, 2005 - Colder Products Company introduces the new SaniQuik(TM) Connection to Europe, which increases operational efficiency and provides a quick, easy link between disposable systems and existing stainless steel processing equipment. Compatible with Colder's MPC and MPX Coupling Series, the new connections ease the transition to disposable tube sets, manifolds and bag systems. SaniQuik is the latest addition to Colder's offering of innovative bioprocessing connections that provide reliable, cost-effective disposable solutions. Colder also offers a Steam-Thru(TM) Connection that streamlines critical processes while reducing contamination risks.

Ideal for use in feeding, cell harvesting, and sampling applications, SaniQuik's integral sanitary terminations attach to hard-plumbed systems with the use of tri-clover clamps. Once mounted, the integral coupling adaptor provides the interface to Colder's disposable couplings widely used in single-use systems. SaniQuik provides cost-effective media transfer solutions by reducing sanitary gasket replacement and by allowing metal sanitary fittings to be replaced by plastic disposable couplings. Additionally, the stainless steel design of the SaniQuik can withstand multiple sterilization cycles such as autoclave, SIP and gamma irradiation.

"Responding to continued pressure to reduce the time it takes to bring pharmaceuticals to market, processors are being challenged to incorporate efficient, disposable solutions into their existing systems," says John Boehm, Business Unit Manager, Bioprocessing and CPC Solutions at Colder Products. "SaniQuik eases the manufacturer's integration of single-use bag systems and transfer lines into established stainless systems and reduces the time required to complete the connection process. It also enables the use of more cost-effective tube sets. Expensive stainless-steel fittings used on tube sets can now be replaced with disposable plastic couplings."

Colder's SaniQuik Connections, offered in 316 stainless, are compatible with the MPC and MPX Series, which are available in polysulfone and polycarbonate materials. Configurations are offered with 3/4" and 1-1/2" sanitary terminations. Silicone, platinum-cured, USP Class VI seals meet industry material compatibility requirements. Operating temperatures range from -40° F to 300° F and pressure from vacuum to 60 psi at 4.14 bar.
