Original Press Release:

New TUFF-FLEX Cord Grip Protects Cable & Connections from Repetitive Movement

The redesigned TUFF-FLEX Cord Grip Connector features a molded rubber cone that is tapered for improved cable stability. Another key feature of this redesigned connector is that it is more compact with a slimmer profile which provides easier installation in tight spaces. The unique design of this connector is ideally suited for applications where cable damage due to excessive flexing is a concern.

Cable insulation fatigues, fractures and breaks at connection stress points. But all that can be avoided with Remke's TUFF-FLEX Cord Grip Connector. The rubber cone on this connector matches cable arc-of-bend specifications to eliminate damage. 100% rubber construction outlasts PVC designs as it resists hard knocks, splitting and cracking. The TUFF-FLEX Connector also features a rubber cone-to-connector seal that is moisture-proof. When the rubber cone is coupled with one of Remke's machined aluminum or steel strain relief cord grips the result is even greater protection from abrasion and cable pull-out.

TUFF-FLEX Cord Grip Connectors are ideal for use in applications where repetitive movement of control and power cable occurs such as robots and automated equipment used in material handling and welding. Available in straight, 45 and 90 degree styles, TUFF-FLEX connectors handle cables ranging in size from .562" through 1.375" in both 1 ¼" and 1 ½" knock-out sizes. Special 'swivel' versions are also available for those applications producing cable rotation as well as cable flex. The connectors also meet or exceed SAE performance requirements providing longer service life.
