Tyco Electronics Offers Singlemode LC Plug Kits
Harrisburg, PA, March 24, 2003 - Tyco Electronics announces the release of its new singlemode LC Connector plug kits. These connector kits are available in both simplex and duplex, for 900µm buffered cable and 1.6-2.0 mm, 2.4 mm, and 3.0 mm jacketed cable.
The addition of this singlemode LC product adds to Tyco Electronics' broad spectrum of available fiber optic products, and completes the LC product line offering with multimode and singlemode plugs and adapters.
"Our new singlemode LC product has the same improved design features as our previously released multimode LC - we improved the original design of the LC connector by increasing the body strength to improve the side load characteristics," commented Craig Kegerise, Product Manager, Tyco Electronics' Fiber Optics Business Unit, "we added a knurled crimp body for better cable retention and a widened thumb latch to make it easier to unplug. Tyco Electronics' design utilizes one connector body style for both simplex and duplex applications. GR-326 qualification testing is currently in process."
