New Sturdy 'Power Tap' Connectors Make It Easy, Secure To Bring High Voltage, Current, Ground To Printed Circuit Boards

Bolingbrook, Ill. - ITW Pancon has announced the development of a new "Power Tap" connector designed to easily bring major power levels or ground circuitry to virtually any location on a printed circuit board at substantially reduced costs.

ITW Pancon's new "Power Tap" connectors enable fast wire-to-board connections using everyday, inexpensive ring and/or fork terminals. They are ideal for use in a wide range of electronic equipment -- especially devices designed with backplanes and mother and daughter boards.

Each rugged new Power Tap connector features a 6/32 in. threaded steel insert staked in place and then surrounded by a sturdy base of 10 press-fit pins. The result is a hard-working connector plated with tin over nickel and with phosphor bronze contacts that can handle a maximum current capacity of 40 amps at 600 volts. Rated current circuit resistance is less than 10 milliohms.

As an added cost-saving feature, no special tool is required to insert these connectors, and they are compatible with all printed circuit boards 3/32 in. and thicker.
