Shutting down a process to properly maintain instruments can run into the thousands of dollars. But with a new, patent-pending product from Dresser Instruments, the removal of instruments for repair, calibration or replacement can be accomplished without interrupting the process flow. Announcing the Ashcroft® Instrument Connection System, the pre-assembled block and bleed valve with 40% fewer leak paths than more expensive in-house alternatives.
Unlike conventional needle valves that are sometimes used for block valves, the Ashcroft unit features a fire-safe block valve and backup seat that will not burn meeting specification API 607. It comes with an optional port on the block valve for testing, adding an instrument or for flushing the process media through the bleed valve.
A special lockout feature on the Ashcroft® unit prevents any accidental opening of the valve during maintenance so the process media will not escape into the environment making it an ideal choice for refineries and hazardous applications. The Ashcroft Instrument Connection System features a quarter turn-handle for easy identification of valve position and for quick response to process flow control. It is available in a variety of materials and has been designed to meet many specifications.
Material traceablity on wetted parts is available.
