IKA®'s MKO 2000 Cone Mill(TM) Provides the Finest Available Particle Size Reduction

Wilmington, NC - The new MKO 2000 Cone Mill(TM) from IKA deagglomerates hard to mill materials such as crystals and pigments. The unique conical design of the rotor and stator combine with special abrasive coatings to exceed the wet milling and grinding capabilities of typical colloid mills.

The Cone Mill is ideally suited for applications including the processing of quartz, carbon black, color pigments, polymers, coatings, pharmaceutical agents, ion exchange resins and mustard seeds for the production of fine mustards.

The conical rotor and stator of the mixing tool use spiral-shaped teeth for pre-milling and a coarse surface coating for fine milling. This unique combination provides the "grinding" action of a stone mill with the fluid dispersing capabilities of a colloid mill. The results are superior to both, including better distribution and finer particle size.

The Cone Mill effectively eliminates the need for multiple passes and expensive preprocessing incurred when processing hard materials, and significantly reduces manufacturing costs. IKA's signature upright, modular design and heavy-duty construction also reduce maintenance costs.

Another unique feature of the Cone Mill is its flexibility. Since the rotor and stator are both conical, and separated by an adjustable gap, the amount of milling action can be set according to the requirements of the application. The IKA Cone Mill is 3A compliant and is available in sizes ranging from lab size to full size production models.
