Configurable Plogg Meters and Data Loggers Upgraded to ZigBee PRO

Energy Optimizers Limited (EOL) has upgraded the wireless protocol for their plogg wireless electricity meters to ZigBee PRO. The upgrade means that interoperability with other manufacturers' wireless sensors is now more easily achieved, thereby extending the possibilities for systems integration, as well as reducing network response times.
Plogg is designed for use in Smart Grid, load analysis and appliance testing trials, where accuracy and data resolution are paramount. The Plogg Manager PC (http://www.plogginternational.com/ploggproducts.html) interface allows the operator to install the plogg with up to thirteen different logging parameters for time and electrical performance, to monitor maximum values for consumption, current and voltage, and to set the logging interval from 1 minute to 1 month. Plogg devices operate with single phase, split 2-phase and balanced 3-phase loads, with the option of an external CT version for either whole house or large load measurement of up to 100A. A mesh network of plogg devices can meter and control appliance loads through wireless communications either with a local PC coordinator or remotely, through an Ethernet access point or Plogg Network gateway.
Plogg instruments offer accuracy and configurability, with self-calibration and interval logging set by the user in customised terminal based software, all part of the Plogg Manager package. A download event scheduler is pre-set at 15 minutes and transfers data from designated Ploggs automatically to a PC.
The comprehensive Software Development Kit (http://www.plogginternational.com/ploggproducts.html), including the Plogg Manager DLL, provides software engineers with the capability to integrate the Plogg and data retrieval functions seamlessly into larger Wireless Sensor Networks.
