Original Press Release:
Fittings Feature Wedge-Lok Clips for Easy Removal of the Cover without Retapping
SKOKIE, IL, February 21, 2002 - Appleton Unilet(R) Conduit Outlet Bodies, recognized as the industry's best, are offered in a broad range of sizes and hub configurations, including with Wedge-Lok(TM), a unique, time-saving clip cover that allows for faster, easier removal of the cover for routine maintenance or replacement.
With Wedge-Lok, the cover is secured with clips - not screws. That means that no retapping of corroded body screw holes is ever required, so no damage occurs to the conduit body. Pan-head cover screws, which hold the clips, provide superior screwdriver seating and torque for easier cover installation or removal. Each cover screw and its attached locking clip are held captive in the cover to prevent loss.
In addition to Wedge-Lok, key features of Unilet Conduit Outlet Bodies include their roomy interiors for more wiring space, smooth, rounded integral bushings in the hubs for protection of the conductor insulation; and the accurately tapped, tapered threads that result in tight, rigid joints and excellent ground continuity. They are designed for use with rigid steel, rigid aluminum, IMC and EMT conduit.
