Original Press Release:

Light Weight & Corrosion-Resistance are Hallmarks of Appleton's FM7 Aluminum Conduit Bodies

SKOKIE, IL, August 16, 2002 -- In a move to provide electrical contractors with a conduit body that is both corrosion-resistant and lightweight, Appleton offers its FM7 aluminum Unilet series of conduit bodies, covers and gaskets for use with rigid steel, aluminum, IMC and EMT conduit.

Appleton FM7 conduit bodies, covers and gaskets offer roomy interiors for greater wire space, plus smooth, rounded integral bushings to protect conductor insulation. Especially attractive in retrofit applications is the interchangeability with equivalent Crouse-Hinds Form 7 bodies, gaskets and covers, with exact application and installation dimensions. In addition, maximum corrosion-resistance is achieved through coating the bodies and covers with aluminum polymer enamel to assure long, trouble-free service in wet and harsh environments.

Another important advantage offered by the FM7 is the unique Wedge-Lok clip cover design, which allows easy removal, without damaging the body. Because the cover is secured with clips -- and not screws -- no retapping of damaged body screw holes is necessary if the cover needs to be replaced.
