Key Technology Introduces RemoteMD(TM) Real-Time Condition Analysis Tool

Key Technology introduces RemoteMD(TM), a new real-time condition analysis tool for G6 optical sorters - Manta®, Optyx®, and Tegra® - as well as G6 ADR® Automatic Defect Removal Systems. An industry first, RemoteMD is the newest addition to Key's PROliance(TM) suite of services and support solutions designed to keep Key's installed base of sorting, conveying, and processing systems operating at peak performance. Like other PROliance services and support solutions, RemoteMD (monitoring and diagnostics) helps customers worldwide improve equipment performance, increase uptime, enhance maintenance efficiency, and extend equipment life.

RemoteMD proactively monitors the condition of the sorter or ADR, assesses the status, and alerts the customer if problems are detected. With RemoteMD, a secure two-way remote session between the sorter and a Key service technician can be initiated. By automating detection and diagnosis, RemoteMD provides detailed information to Key's service technicians, which increases the first-time fix-rate, reduces in-plant service calls, and speeds resolution time.

Key is introducing three distinct levels of RemoteMD services as part of its three comprehensive protection plans - SelectPRO, PlusPRO, and PremierPRO. Each of the three protection plans, available via annual subscription, begins with a visit by a Key service technician who conducts a complete 22-point audit of the customer's optical equipment and ensures it is operating at optimal performance. During the initial visit, the service technician establishes a secure Internet connection, enabling RemoteMD to monitor and diagnose the system.

"At Key, we're taking customer service to the next level with RemoteMD. We've taken the concept of remote diagnostics, which has, until now, been reactive in nature, and made it proactive. With RemoteMD, we continuously monitor the customer's sorter or ADR, looking for conditions that may require corrective action. We automatically alert the customer of the condition change and, when circumstances warrant, we can remotely log in and fix it," noted John Kadinger, Program Manager for Key Technology. "RemoteMD ensures the equipment is operating at peak performance, which helps maximize product quality, productivity, and yield."

The basic level of RemoteMD, available as part of the SelectPRO protection plan, includes system monitoring, alarms for critical events, remote diagnosis, remote fixes, and software management. Additional RemoteMD services such as remote auditing, remote backups, proactive log analysis, product metrics tracking, and segmentation assistance are available as part of the more extensive PlusPRO or PremierPRO protection plans.
