Rockwell Automation Unveils New Line of Industrial Computers and Monitors
VersaView industrial computers and monitors offer a cost-effective solution for industrial computing
MILWAUKEE, Nov. 4, 2002 - Control system designers who spend many hours selecting, customizing and integrating industrial computers into their project designs will welcome the time saved when selecting the new pre-configured Allen-Bradley VersaView industrial computers and monitors from Complete Automation leader Rockwell Automation.
VersaView is the new cost-effective, rugged, easy to select family of industrial computers and monitors designed to manage computing technology over time.

VersaView industrial computers feature pre-installed Rockwell Automation software products, which significantly reduces the amount of time spent in configuration. And using both Rockwell Automation brand hardware and software provides users with a single source for maintenance and troubleshooting. VersaView computers and monitors are pre-configured with a range of features to meet the needs of virtually any industrial application - including visualization, control, information processing and maintenance:
Visualization. For traditional HMI visualization needs, VersaView makes it possible for operators to monitor single machines or entire systems, record and export manufacturing data for analysis, and troubleshoot problems when they occur. When bundled with Rockwell Software RSView Enterprise Series HMI software, users can build a screen representation of the entire plant and create a visual link to more intricate levels of detail - such as component status, details of a particular area of production or process tracking.
Control. The robust VersaView industrial computers and monitors are ideal for PC-based control, simplified data exchange, and more efficient information processing. Using VersaView for PC-based control allows for a more diverse range of inputs and a greater number of supported slots - up to 14 cards - that allow greater customization and easier connections between the front office and the plant floor.
Information. Most manufacturers are used to getting information from the process, but few are able to give information to the process. Used in conjunction with the Rockwell Software RSBizWare suite of software products, VersaView industrial computers and monitors can not only collect information about manufacturing processes and equipment, but they also allow users to upload maintenance applications and process commands.
Maintenance. VersaView industrial computers and monitors can host multiple development environments, making it easier to perform machine-level maintenance. Users can select from a variety of display and computer sizes. Monitors are available with a display size of 12, 15 or 17.4 inches, and computer memory is available at 128MB to 512MB RAM and can be expanded up to 1GB RAM. Rockwell Automation has also simplified the ordering system, creating standard catalog numbers that reflect only the computer or monitor purchased without specifying options or components that could change as the technology changes.
