Computer-Aided Detection Software enhances medical imaging.

Press Release Summary:

Tuned to work with full field digital and computed radiography vendors, AccuDetect 3.0 provides computer aided detection for both film and digital-based mammography systems. Ability to compare results of multiple image recognition processes allows for mitigation of inherent faults of image recognition processes, minimizing false-positive and false-negative rates. Integrating several algorithms and sophisticated voting methods, software ensures effective detection of suspicious lesions.

Parascript Announces AccuDetect 3.0 Computer Aided Detection (CAD) Algorithms With Improved Performance for CAD Vendors and Manufacturers of Mammography Systems

-- Innovative CAD software offers improved performance to leading OEM vendors and heightens potential to lower false-positive rates in detecting suspicious lesions on film and digital mammograms --

BOULDER, Colo., Nov. 19 /- Parascript, LLC, the image analysis and pattern recognition technology provider, today announced the release of AccuDetect 3.0, the next generation of its computer-aided detection (CAD) software with higher sensitivity and lower false-positive rates when detecting suspicious lesions on mammograms, compared to the previous version of the product. Parascript AccuDetect 3.0 provides CAD for both film and digital based mammography systems and is now tuned to work with the leading full field digital and computed radiography vendors. The system has been tested with primary CAD providers and was shown to improve sensitivity and lower false-positive rates when working in conjunction with other CAD systems in a voting scheme.

"The vision behind Parascript's AccuDetect 3.0 is to create the next generation CAD system with performance levels approaching those of a second radiologist. It is only when CAD systems achieve sensitivity and false-positive rates approaching those of a radiologist that they will be embraced worldwide as an effective second opinion tool," said Yuri Prizemin, director of product marketing for Parascript.

AccuDetect's ability to compare the results of multiple image recognition processes allows for the mitigation of the inherent faults of the image recognition processes, thus leading to reduced false-positive and false-negative rates.

The AccuDetect 3.0 system integrates several proprietary algorithms and sophisticated voting methods for effective and efficient detection of suspicious lesions on mammograms.
